For the Premium Service, the TrusteeWorks team works with you and your organisation on a personal basis to give you the highest chance of finding the new charity trustee you need.  Throughout the trustee and governance journey, the TrusteeWorks team will ensure that you get the right help and support.  

We will help you clarify your charity trustee recruitment needs

We invest time in helping you identify the skills, experience and commitment you are looking for, to ensure that we have a clear picture of the kind of person you are seeking to recruit. This means that we can be very specific in our recruitment, and that we can express the role in a way most likely to attract the right candidates.

We will take the hard work of trustee recruitment off your hands

Recruiting trustees can be a time-consuming business and we know that the time of trustees and senior staff is valuable. We will design and compile your recruitment information pack, respond to enquiries, filter out unsuitable candidates, follow up interest from our volunteers.  We will brief interested candidates about your role, your organisation and the duties of a trustee. The shortlisted candidates which we send you will be well informed and keen to take the next step.

We will maximise the chance that the right volunteers will come forward

We know from experience that people are most likely to volunteer if they are asked directly. We personally approach volunteers on a individual basis, highlighting why your role might interest them and encouraging them to explore it further. Another key factor in attracting volunteers is responding quickly and professionally to initial interest. We respond to their interest by providing volunteers with clear and comprehensive information and encouraging them to take the next step.

You will gain access to a register of volunteers with valuable skills and expertise

We recruit volunteers from a range of sources with diverse skills, interests and experience. We have at least 2,000 registered and available volunteers at any one time. We specifically target volunteers who are interested in becoming a charity trustee and provide them with information so they better understand what being a charity trustee entails and can make an informed decision on selecting a role.

We will ensure that your trustee role stands out from the rest

We work with you closely to present your opportunity attractively. As well as supporting you in writing a great registration form (the initial advert to attract volunteers) we will work with you to produce a professionally presented recruitment pack which will inform potential candidates about your organisation and the opportunity available and inspire them to take the next step.

We will tailor our processes to meet your requirements

We will fit in with your own recruitment processes and timetables – for example producing a short list of candidates to a deadline or arranging interview times. If you have a number of roles you wish to fill or succession plan over a number of years you want to work towards, we can work with you on this.

We can offer the option to recruit beyond our current register

We can arrange online or print advertising, including free copy writing, according to your needs. Recruitment advertising is offered at a discount through the special deals negotiated by the TrusteeWorks service partners.  Your advertising plan will be agreed with you and priced on an individual basis.

Inducting and retaining great trustees

The TrusteeWorks team know that the journey does not end when you have selected the right candidate.  It is vitally important that the organisation and the trustee turn this in to a good experience that becomes a lasting relationship for the term of office agreed.  We have developed some clear information and identified some of the best resources to help the new trustee and the organisation enjoy an effective induction.  We also offer ongoing support with access to specialist governance advisers, news and information on current trustee matters as well as access to networking, training and relevant events.
