If you wish to leave a legacy to Reach in your will and help us overcome disadvantage , we recommend using a solicitor to make or amend your will. A solicitor can ensure that your exact wishes are carried out and that the will is legally valid.

When drafting a will, some people choose to use the solicitor who assisted them in the purchase of their home. Alternatively the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) can provide you with a list of local solicitors who have experience in drawing up wills.

How to word your legacy

Your solicitor will know how to word a legacy but you might find the following wording useful:

“I give to Reach , 89, Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP, UK (registered Charity No 278837)

  • all the residue of my estate
  • a percentage share  (enter the amount) of the residue of my estate
  • the sum of £….
  • an item or  items of value, (giving an accurate description) to be used by Reach for its general purposes,

I direct that the receipt of the Hon Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge of the said legacy”.

Alternatively if you have already made a will you can complete a codicil form (pdf) and take this along to your solicitor.

Company Pensions

If you are a member of a company pension scheme, you can complete an expression of wish form to benefit Reach or any other charity. In the event of your death part or all of the life insurance benefit will be paid to your chosen beneficiaries. The expression of wish form notifies the trustees of your wishes. It is simple to do, with no legal complications. However not all company pension schemes  are set up to do this, so please do check with your employer.

Thank You

If you have already included a gift to Reach in your will or are planning to do so we would like to give you our grateful thanks – this really is a wonderful gift towards our work.
